The most productive night of the season so far with a massive 5 moths in the traps. However they were of 5 different species and included my first Common Quaker, Clouded Drab and Grey Shoulder Knot of the year.

57+ Scarlet Tiger moth larvae happily feeding up on small comfrey plants this morning at Combe Hay, south of Bath.

At last after over a week of bitter cold a slightly warmer night produced three March Moths at our actinic light in a window.

At last some moths - despite a minimum temperature of -1.5˚C there were 2 Hebrew Character and a Satellite in the trap this morning.

Still very few moths about but I did see a Small Tortoiseshell this afternoon here in Norton sub Hamdon
