Brimstone here too fluttering around in the garden yesterday. Tried a 20W Wemlite for the first time last night. In spite of awful weather, 6 Heb.Characters, 5 Com.Quakers and FFY 1 Grey Shoulder-knot.

Yes, the warm weather seems to have brought them out. There have been several reports on Twitter of Brimstones being seen around the county today. I had one at Durleigh Reservoir this morning.

First Brimstone butterfly of the year in the garden today - a male flying round the garden between 1100 -1200.

T Min 8.5°C & dry but somewhat breezy and (once again!) no moths in the trap this morning.

Just 2 Hebrew Characters and a Clouded Drab, FFYs, not a lot but much better than this time last year!

Firstly,many apologies as ibelieve that yesterday i wrote Small and it should have read Pale Brindled Beauty.My submission for yesterday seems to have disappeared.Today i had 12moths. 5Chestnut,2Satellite,1Common Quaker,1March Moth,1 Dotted Border,all ffy plus 2 Pale Brindled Beauty and 3Micros. We also have Frog spawn in the pond today.

As it was milder and warmer last night I put the trap out - 3 moths. Hebrew Character, Common Quaker, Chestnut.

After the terrible weather with no trapping we had a Dotted Border and a Red-green Carpet at a window light so I was at last encouraged to put the trap out but the only moth was a Chestnut.

Put the trap out last night without much optimism but was rewarded with a Pale Brindled Beauty and Common Quaker, both FFY.
