We caught 47 moths of 14 species. 8 March Moth, 7 Engrailed, 4 Shoulder-stripe, 1 Common Quaker, 5 Hebrew Character, 7 Diurnea fagella, 3 Clouded Drab, 1 Powdered Quaker, 1 Zelleria hepariella, 1 Nut-tree Tussock, 4 Water Carpets, 1 Streamer, 1 Early Toothstripe, 3 Brindled Beauty.
We also had 2 species of Orthoptera. Both the Common and Slender Groundhoppers came to the light.
We were hoping to find and photograph Blossom Underwing and/or The White-marked but no joy.
Just a note on the temperatures. It was 5oC when we packed up but back in Bristol after midnight, it was 11oC. A 6 degree swing between town and country. Roger
