Dichrorampha acuminatana (1279) and Epliblema cirsiana (1184a). The latter is the more interesting as Paul tells me that it is a recent split from E.scutulana and consequently there are few records for VC5 and 6. From my very average photograph Paul identified it as either scutulana or crsiana but as it was recovered from an area of virtually no thistles but abundant knapweed I took up Paul's offer to examine it to see if it was indeed the 'probably under recorded' E.cirsiana. Thankfully it was a male and Paul made the confirmation.
This will be the last of my £2.80p submissions to Paul thanks to his very helpful guidance on posting micros.... but it was well worth it. Not just for the identification but also the background and feedback that Paul gave which is making persuing micros so much more interesting.
Well done Paul.
