I was bemoaning to myself the lack of moths again this morning from last nights trapping in my garden in Frome. After taking note of 11 moths of 6 species, I noticed a small moth on the ground outside the trap. It looked worse for wear and when I came to photograph it and after searching through all my books, I was none the wiser. I put the photo out onto the 'Recording Moths UK' facebook page were it was identified as Diplopseustis perieresalis. John Langmaid soon commented that he thought it was a new record for Somerset and asked for details and advised that I should notify our county recorder. Sadly, the moth has since expired. Paul - I'll send it on to you.
