19/5/20 - at least there was no Great Tit in the trap this morning - maybe it has learnt its lesson. 30 moths, of 14 species this time, a slight improvement on recent catches. 6 FFYs were White Ermine (5), Setaceous Hebrew Character (3), Treble Lines, Vine's Rustic (2), Small Magpie and May Highflyer. This is only the third time I have ever recorded this last, and the first time actually in May ! As far as I am aware, there are very few Alders (larval foodplant) in my local area, so not too surprising, but at Lydford, where I only had one record, there were Alders within close range. Also in the trap, a solitary May Bug, two small Caddises and an Earwig.
